


THE AUTHORS

Judy Cox is a lifelong Georgian who resides with her husband, Mike, in Carrollton. With nearly 40 years of science teaching experience across elementary, middle, and higher education, she shares her enthusiasm for the natural world with many. Judy has led numerous in-service teacher workshops and co-authored We Saw the Moon in the Afternoon to help demystify the motions of the sun, earth, and moon. She has been published in state, national, and international literature and presented at numerous conferences. Judy also earned a private pilot’s license, completed the New York Marathon, and enjoyed being a balloon artist and face painter.

Gail Marshall lives with her husband, Howard, in the Atlanta, GA area and has over 40 years of experience as a science educator, working with children and teachers from preschool to college. She inspires excitement in learning through hands-on investigations and problem-solving. We Saw the Moon in the Afternoon reflects her passion for clarifying the complex motions of the sun, earth, and moon. Gail has published professional literature, including chapters in globally distributed books, and participated in an international environmental exchange program. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, drawing, walking, and participating in 5K races.
